I've had friends look for her in Japan with no luck, and auctions rarely have her available. I was about ready to give up altogether when, last week, i found her on eBay. She was super expensive, but I was willing to pay in order to get her into my collection.
My package from Japan arrived last week, and I raced to post office to pick her up on Saturday. I don't think I've been that excited to open a package in years!!!! :)
Anyway, this a picture I took over the weekend. She is definitely the best of my collection!
I have to admit, overall my cleaning project went pretty well. There is still a ton of stuff that I would like to do, but I am finally happy that the apartment is dusted, scrubbed and organized. The cat is already getting hair everywhere again, but what can you do? I just keep chasing after him and cleaning up the hair babies he leaves behind.
Tomorrow, I start a massive apartment cleaning. It's going to be a long process and it will probably suck, but it's so very necessary. I'll be updating throughout....probably because I will be venting over the endless mess. The neat freak within is screaming, and tomorrow she'll be coming out with a vengeance.
Although the characters had proper send-offs at the end of this past series, I will miss their antics - the stories were great and their acting was incredible. With that said, the idea of an entirely new cast being brought on the show does interest me, and I'm eager to see what Series 3 has in store. I guess I'll just have to hang tight until February '09.
I once heard from someone say that Skins was "the show about teenagers watched by twenty-somethings who want to remember what it was like to be teenagers". Although my teenage years weren't quite as exciting or party-filled as the characters on the show, I still watched and laughed at certain things that resonated with my own past experiences. It's definitely a lot more honest than the teen dramas we have stateside. If you haven't had a chance to check it out, Series 1 is available now at Amazon UK and Series 2 will be available on May 5. I highly recommend it - it's phenomenal and utterly addictive.

Allergy season is something that hasn't ever affected me. I don't get hayfever and pollen, to me, is something that other people are constantly annoyed with during the spiring and summer months. In my case, allergies mean something year-round and should be avoided at all costs. Here are my two allergies:Coconut is something I wish I wasn't allergic to because I actually like the taste of it. When I was little, a friend of mine let me have a handful of shredded coconut at lunch, and I ended up sick for two days; it was the first and last time I tasted the stuff. My poor husband, who loves coconut desserts (especially cakes) ends up going without it most of time. It also makes eating Indian and Thai food quite difficult as this ingredient is used frequently in those recipes.
The other allergy I have is of the prescription drug variety: penicillin. This allergy was discovered when I was about five years old, and I was rushed to the hospital with a nasty case of tonsillitis. After the injection, I became even sicker and developed a horrible rash - I don't remember much, but I do know that I ended up having to stay in the hospital even longer because of it. It turned out that this allergy is hereditary - my great great grandfather was also allergic to penicillin, and sadly it was the cause of his death. Therefore, I'm always very careful to let people know about this allergy in case of an emergency.
You can now consider yourselves informed. =P
Let's see just how smart all you cookies are. Watch the video below, but remember: sometimes you need to be observing more than the announcer asks. Enjoy and good luck.
however you seriously can't help loving this little girl's three minute summary of the original film. She almost makes me want to pick up a copy....almost. Enjoy the cuteness.
Tired and weary from a long day and annoying commute home, I walked into to my apartment to find half of my signed Shaun of the Dead poster dangling to the floor. Buttons (our cat for those who are new), at some point during the day, managed to slice right through the center of the poster, almost tearing it into two separate pieces.
As soon as I realized what had happened, all I could find the strength to do was stand there with my mouth agape....then tears started to roll down my cheeks. After a few minutes of acting like an emotional nerd, I pulled myself together and inspected the damage closely - it wasn't looking good. Carefully I removed the poster from the wall and began the process of taping it back together. The poster, thankfully, wasn't destroyed, but there is a long tear that arcs across the entire length of the sheet - and it's completely visible.
I think Buttons knew he'd done something wrong when he looked at me, as his eyes immediately fixed to the floor like a small child in trouble. I can't blame him though, accidents happen....I just wish it hadn't been with this one poster. This isn't exactly how I wanted to start the week. >_<
He's so cute. :) I want to steal him. (But I won't.) Sam's not huge on TV but he does... read more
