But Mr. B insists on messing with my brand new vinyl toys!  Here's a picture of him just before he started to gnaw on the top of Bulletto's horns.  Luckily, I got it away from him before any damage was done.  Bulletto is now in a much safer place, away from my curious kitty. Phew!

I've seen the kids on Facebook doing it, so I'm going to write my list here.  Here are 25 things you may not know about me:


  1. When I was little, I was scared to death of the car wash.  We're talking screaming and crying levels of scared.
  2. I played the piano from the ages of 7 to 18.  I was never really any good....probably because I wanted a pony and not a piano.
  3. I'm a research nerd.  Whenever I find something I like, I have to know everything about it and this has resulted in amazing search skills. ;)
  4. In my entire life, I've only had two boyfriends; I married the second one.
  5. I always joked about getting a job on Wall St when I was in college.  I never thought it would actually happen.
  6. I saw "Say Anything..." for the first time when I was 12 years old.  It was the movie that made me want to fall in love with someone.
  7. As a kid, I was far more interested in Nintendo than the dolls I owned.  As an adult, this has become the opposite.
  8. I wanted to become a doctor, but I ended up changing my mind at college registration. 
  9. I have no sense of compass direction.  I yell at Dan when he says things like, "go north".
  10. When I first met my now husband, it was on the internet, we were 15, and we hated each other.
  11. I still love to watch reruns of Dawson's Creek.
  12. I hated math in elementary, middle, and high school.  It wasn't until I went to college that I discovered a love for the stuff.
  13. I stepped on James Lipton's (that guy who hosts "In the Actor's Studio") foot trying to meet Will Ferrell at a cocktail party.  I missed my chance because I was busy apologizing to Mr. Lipton.
  14. I hate surprises and rarely deal well with them.
  15. I try to do one good deed a day.  Some days are harder than others...
  16. I've lived in New York for almost six years and I've never been to the Statue of Liberty.
  17. I once watched the movie Labyrinth 10 times in a row.  I think I was eight years old when I did that.
  18. I cry like crazy whenever I watch the episode of Doctor Who entitled "Doomsday".  It doesn't matter how many times I've seen it, I always cry.
  19. At the first horror convention I ever went to, I briefly walked around and made conversation with the only other person I could find who wasn't dressed as his/her favorite character.  Later that day, I found out that he was the guy who played Jason in Friday the 13th Part II.
  20. Two years ago, I spent 7 hours on MTV for the Human Giant Marathon.  It was equal parts awesome and exhausting.
  21. I watch more British television than American anymore.
  22. I moved away from home over 6 years ago, but I still talk to my parents almost every day.
  23. I have a tendency to get flustered easily over certain things...I'm working on that.
  24. I was in a movie with Jack Lemmon and Sissy Spacek when I was 17 months old.  It all transpired because my parents were bored while vacationing in Mexico, and auditioning for a film sounded entertaining.
  25. I secretly still want that pony mentioned in item #2.

After being sick for quite some time, my parents made the terribly difficult choice to put our 15 year old Jack Russell, Penny, to sleep on Thursday, January 15th.    Even though I moved away from her a little over 6 years ago, very few days went by that Penny didn't cross my thoughts.  I always asked about her during calls to my parents, and I constantly wanted to know how she was doing.  I have no siblings, so Penny became like a little sister to me and another child to my parents.  I know that may sound incredibly strange, but Penny was a huge part of our lives.   Simply put, Penny was an amazing dog with a loving disposition;  you could be in the most horrific of moods and she would just wipe (actually, more like lick) the grimace off your face and replace it with a smile.  She was always happy and wanted to make sure everyone was feeling the same way.

With that said, Penny, I'd like to thank you for:

  • Being the first puppy I ever held in my arms and could call my own.
  • Dealing with all my teenage drama.  I'm sure that was soooooo much fun to watch.
  • All the times you were my study partner and fell asleep on my Marketing books.  I know it was your way of telling me it was time to get some rest.
  • Licking the tears away when I cried about anything...even the stupid stuff.
  • Keeping mom and dad so happy after I moved away.  They loved you everyday for that.
I love you and I'll miss you so much...
